Angry? Some new perspectives

I just came across a new acronym for anger. Edward Mills suggests that we might start looking at ANGER as Awakening New Growth Encountering Resistance.

How many times have you heard a comment and you new it was right on, and “it made you angry” to hear it? “Yah, she’s got me pegged, and I don’t want to hear it ‘grrrr’”.Or you get really angry about something you’ve been making wrong and haven’t been able to come to grips with.

I love this concept of looking for the new growth we’re resisting! “Oh, good. I’m angry, what new growth is available for me here?”

Another approach to anger (or any feeling of discomfort), which I’ve been using a lot lately, comes from Arnold Patent’s work. Robert Scheinfeld has adapted this approach and calls it “The Process”.  In his excellent book Busting Loose From The Money Game he walks us through “The Process” of recognizing the discomfort as someplace we’ve hidden our power, and reclaiming our power from it. Very empowering! This book could just as well be called Busting Loose from The Human Game. His explanation of how life works is the best I’ve come across! You’ve  got to read it!

  1. Anger is our natural emotion and is nature’s way of empowering us to “ward off” our perception of an attack or threat to our well being. We are experiencing discomfort and anxiety.

One natural way to express anger is to respond aggressively. This is naturally normal, it’s just a feeling. We must know how to manage our anger.

Mr. Scheinfeld’s newly-released book called “Busting Loose From The Business Game” takes the topic of discussion into a very different place, especially as it relates to management, money, business and career.

    • Thanks so much for your comment, Katrina. I love Robert Scheinfeld’s work. I practice what he presents in his book “Busting Loose From the Money Game.” I am looking forward to diving into “Busting Loose From The Business Game” on my flight to Alaska next week, and will check out the conversation on anger which you refer to. Blessings! MariePatrice
